WARRI— FORMER Managing Director of the Niger-Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, yesterday, said the changes made by President Goodluck Jonathan in the security and petroleum sectors would stimulate stability and unity in the country.
Aguariavwodo, who spoke in an interview with Vanguard pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience and give the President more time to fix the country's problems.
His words, "Nigerians should give President Goodluck Jonathan time to fix the country's problems. I am convinced beyond doubt that President Jonathan is the right man for the job of the captain of Nigeria's ship at this time. He has exhibited calmness in the face of challenges.
"In the midst of the many negative drumbeats, President Jonathan has made appointments that can only bring more stability and unity to Nigeria in the security and petroleum sectors.
"To many that may not know, President Jonathan spends an average of 21 hours a day working. He hardly sleeps, and believe me, he is on top of many of the situations that confront Nigeria today."
According to him, "It is true Nigerians are impatient for development, it is their right to demand such and I can assure you that President Jonathan is more than capable of meeting the aspirations and yearnings of Nigerians".
He asserted, "Take the huge strides in the power and agricultural sector. Nigerians should critically evaluate all these, and take advantage of them. Very soon, these will begin to yield maximum results. I believe with the states also helping by playing their own roles, Nigerians will begin to smile soon".
