Title: 2011: ACN, Buhari’s party may join forces
Post by: sparrow on Dec 02, 2010, 09:01 PM
WITH congresses opening today, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has taken a step forward in its preparations for next year's general elections.

The major opposition party held an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Lagos Wednesday. It released guidelines for its congresses and the National Convention.

But the congresses will not start today in five states, including Lagos. The other states are Sokoto, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Cross River.

National Chiarman Bisi Akande said the congress would not hold in Sokoto State because the party started the registration of its members late.

There was also late collation of registration in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Cross River states.
