As the University Relations and Recruitment Specialist EARC you are primarily responsible for building and maintaining relationships with target universities and internal stakeholders in Africa region. You take the lead role in developing (creative) sourcing strategies, coordinate pre-screening efforts and facilitate final assessments. This is an opportunity to drive Baker Hughes competitive advantage by delivering university relations solutions.
This role will involve upto 50% Travel
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Sourcing:
• Proactively builds/maintains relationships with identified target universities and schools in Africa
• Positions Baker Hughes as the preferred employer-of-choice with target audiences via on and off campus events, sponsorships and branding efforts etc
• Initiates, develops and executes sourcing strategies in hard-to-source and -recruit countries that will attract top talents
• Ensures all sourcing efforts follow global marketing guidelines
Recruiting/ Assessment:
• Liaises with RPO for the off campus pre-screening efforts to develop pools of talents for entry-level positions particularly in Africa
• Evaluates candidates in the final stages in the Applicants Tracking System, updates the ATS accordingly and maintains communication with earmarked talents
• Facilitates candidate selection through competency-based interviews (on campus) and assessment centers, ensuring only the most qualified candidates are considered
Relationship Management:
• Acts as the interface between managers, human resources, university professors and students to ensure best in class graduates join Baker Hughes in Africa
• Creates a positive candidate experience through problem resolution, immediate response to candidate's needs, and delivery of exceptional service to the candidate
• Shares the best practices with the different countries and ensure standardization of recruitment processes across the region
Project Management:
• Partners with human resources and hiring managers to initiate and drive internship programs
• Provides monthly reports on activity levels, hire against target, competitor information and market information
• Builds university partnership strategies that can meet unique business needs
• Ensures a consistent implementation of the global university recruitment strategy across all countries and business segments
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
• A Bachelor or Master Degree with good academic achievement in Engineering, Science or a Human Resources-related subject
• The ability and willingness to travel extensively in Africa for university recruiting events
• Demonstrated ability to build personal relationships and to work independently
• University Recruitment experience in a corporate environment including experience in competency-based interview and assessment techniques
• Broad knowledge of sourcing strategies to produce a pipeline of outstanding talent

Desirable:
• Working knowledge with applicant tracking system Taleo
• Ability to communicate in Portuguese or French
• Work experience in an engineering role
