COACH of the Ondo State handball coach, Oluro Oladeji feels so strong that their female team, Owena Queens have the clout to lift the maiden Sam Ocheho Invitational Handball Championship trophy
Ondo state, one of the six states that have arrived for the tourney are sending warning signals to their opponents that the invitational tourney is not going to be a tea- party for them.
Speaking ahead of the tourney, Oladeji was categorical to sayn that state's strong force was in the female team.
"We have a strong tradition in women's handball in the country. Owena Queens have a standing reacord in the elite division in the league and have recorded upsets against to teams. Hopefully, I know we can win this championship to prove our worth in women handball,"Oladeji said
Continuing, he said "We have prepared hard for the tourney and I believe that we have the capacity to win it.
"It will be tough, no doubt, but Ondo has a strong tradition in women handball and we hope to continue with that by emerging tops at this championship,"
Oladeji said that he brought his team to Lagos to test their might against some others who they will do battle against at the National Sports Festival (NSF) in November in Lagos.
He said the competition would also afford him the chance to see how well his team has blended since they began camping early this year. "What we are to do is to test my team against others who are also here to win the top prize.
