University of Cape Town funded A W Mellon Foundation Honours Scholarship in the field of Humanities, South Africa 2013

Eligibility:

-Merit and/or Financial Need

-Full-time registration at UCT for Honours study

-Financial need will be considered in cases where an applicant's gross family income and/or income from all sources is less than R200,000 per annum. In such instances, details of family income and support must be declared and supported by documentary evidence

-Declaration that a student is financially independent of his/her family does not qualify her/him for needs-based support. Such students may, however, qualify for a merit-based award

-Financial need consequent on life-style choices (dependents, choice of housing, etc) does not qualify applicants for needs-based support. Such students may, however, be eligible for a merit-based award.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: Various categories of funding provide support towards the cost of study at UCT. For students who will register for Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees. It is important to note that the University is not able to provide full-cost funding to postgraduate students. Scholarships and bursaries awarded will contribute towards the cost of study and applicants are advised to secure additional support.
