Newcastle University and UK Government offers National Scholarship for Postgraduate International Students, UK 2012/13

Eligibility:

-Your family income is above the published threshold or above the eventual threshold used for the limited number of scholarship awards available (see overleaf).

-You live in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales or a country outside the EU.

-You are a postgraduate student.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales or a country outside the EU

Scholarship Description: There are a limited number of National Scholarships under the UK Government scheme. All students with household income below £25,000 p.a. as determined by Student Finance England or the Student Loans Company EU Team will be considered and awards will be made from the lowest income upwards until all awards are exhausted. As a result not all students with family income below £25,000 will receive National Scholarships in 2012/13.

How to Apply: You are strongly encouraged to contact the Student Financial Support Team before submitting any appeal (contact details overleaf). If you decide to submit an appeal you must complete the relevant National Scholarship appeal form which will be made available after your discussion with a member of Student Financial Support Team staff. Appeals submitted in any other way will not be considered.

Appeals cannot be considered until January 2013 or later as allocation of National Scholarship awards will not be completed until early 2013. Appeals will not be considered under any circumstances after 31st May 2013.

The text of your appeal must outline clearly why you believe our decision is incorrect and provide documentary evidence which supports your case. Appeals will be considered by the Manager of Student Financial Support within 2 weeks of submission of all necessary information. No one who was involved in making the original decision not to make an award to you will be involved in the appeal decision process. A letter detailing the outcome of your appeal will be emailed to you. There is no further stage of appeal beyond this final decision.
