Nigerian elderstateman and foremost nationalist, Anthony Eromosele Enahoro, died today in Benin, Edo state at the age of 87. Pa Enahoro was also a journalist and respected democracy activist.

A few weeks ago, he fell ill and was thought to have died at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Benin according to family sources. He survived the ordeal with a serious stroke that left him paralyzed before he finally died early today.
