Before his dwindling career nose-dived, Zaaki Azzay is one of the few artistes in Nigeria then who gained popularity both in the core North and South West axis.
Today, Zaaki, who has tried several albums after his maiden effort without one hitting the room let alone road is said to have engaged in a show of shame, beating his wife, Hadiza silly.
According to a report filed by Project Alert, an NGO that champions the course of women faced with this kind of challenge, Hadiza was allegedly battered by her husband, Zaaki. Hadiza, as the report puts, ran out of her matrimonial home sought the help of the NGO.
Project Alert housed Hadiza, but Zaaki reportedly trailed his wife there through the Police and MTN tracker.
The woman with her two kids, we gathered, left the house when Zaaki allegedly turned Hadiza into a punching bag that he often trains with every day and night. The reason, as we were told, was because Zaaki accused her of being the brain behind his dwindling career.
Nigeriafilms.com reliably gathered that an organisation, Dorcas Generation Initiative, led by a woman of essence called Amara Blessing, who is saddled with the responsibility of helping women like, is making effort to raise money to rent a place for her to stay with her kids.
All efforts by Nigeriafilms.com to reach Zaaki to comment on this allegation was to no avail as he did not pick our calls put through to him on his 0805 number. We also sent an SMS to him stating why we were contacting him, but he did not reply our message. When we later put a call to him about 1hr 20mins after sending the text message to him, he didn't pick our calls, but later switched off his phone.
We waited again for some minutes and put a call through to him again, but this time, he aborted our call.
Meanwhile, a source close to Zaaki confirmed the story to us, but claimed he didn't turn his wife into a punching bag. We also learnt that Hadiza moved out of Zaaki's house about four months ago.
Zaki dissappointed me on this.
If this is actually true then he is a big disgrace to the entertainment industry.
