OBJECTIVE
The recruited National Vehicles Maintenance Assistant will provide vehicle maintenance support to the office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer, and technical guidance of the Transport Officer, the incumbent performs the following duties:‐
1. Direct supervision and organizing service and repair of all WHO vehicles within the assigned zones; Prepare Service Plan and Work Orders before delivering vehicles for service/repair;
2. Provide quality control for the vehicles coming from service/repair; Regular checking of technical condition, documentation and drivers equipment in the vehicles; Record vehicles service history;
3. Periodic inspection of the mechanics, quality of their work and related documentation; Prepare requests for spare parts; Responsible for delivering of spare parts to the states;
4. Make spot checks and ensure that the drivers fill the various documents accurately at all times; Prepare electronic weekly/monthly vehicles maintenance reports, print and file the same reports for management use;
5. Evaluate drivers technical skills and train them during on daily and weekly check up
operations;
6. Update transport management system software and submit monthly report
7. Prepare reports for vehicle disposal according to country guideline
8. Should be readily available to travel within Nigeria to execute responsibilities;
9. Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• The successful candidate must have a University degree or equivalent in Auto Mechanical Engineering. Professional qualifications in Transport Management an added advantage
• MUST posses a valid driving license; ability to drive 4WD vehicles.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Must be proficient in the use of computer, particularly applications related to vehicle
maintenance and fleet management
• Ability to operate HF and VHF radio equipment
• A proven report writing ability a MUST
• Ability to acquire sound knowledge of WHO rules, regulations and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain good relations with people at various levels and of different
nationalities.
EXPERIENCE
• At least 10 years experience in auto mechanical engineering field
• Experience in management responsibilities an added advantage
• Experience in the UN System is an added advantage
