Job Description:

1. To ensure quality of the credit portfolio is maintained within the parameters specified under the SME Group & Local Credit Policy as well as Local business strategy.

2. Ensuring that Reporting of information relating to the portfolio is timely and accurate.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that quality of Limit Applications meet Group and Local Credit Policy standards, particularly with regard to the completeness and depth of risk analysis.

• Approving of Limit Applications falling within own discretion and support of applications, which require approval beyond self credit delegation

• Monitoring compliance with Credit Policy and business strategy on at least a quarterly basis and reviewing any divergence there from with Risk, SME Banking to ensure credit quality standards are achieved.

• Assist Head of Credit, SME Banking in determining training needs and in arranging for these needs to be met in collaboration with Business and Human Resources.

• Assist Head of Credit, SME Banking in establishing internal control procedures to effectively audit the credit risk management process.

• Undertake customer visit where necessary and applicable to ensure credit standards are maintained.

• Conduct timely self-assessment on compliance within the job scope.

• Ensure compliance with the Group's standards and regulatory requirements pertaining to Money Laundering and CDD.

• Participate in and/or support the Bank's effort in combating money-laundering activities.

• Exercise due care and diligence on matters related to Money Laundering and CDD in the day to day operations, which include account opening and reviews, transaction monitoring, reporting suspicions, customer communication, implementing new requirements, updating and revising operating procedures, acquire relevant knowledge and training, provide support to superior and subordinates.

Key Customers:

Internal Customers – other departments like Product Management and Sales, CI, Collections, Operations and L&C. Interaction with these departments for joint initiatives and key business deliverables.

External Customers – bank's customers for feedback/complaints, regulators/ group office / auditors for reporting/discussion/ feedback, etc.

Key Measurable:

• No direct business targets on asset growth, new business volume or profitability.

• Joint responsibility on loan impairment, delinquency, credit risk cost management performance and risk KPIs New business booking quality and portfolio growth quality Robust new business/ portfolio monitoring framework and timely intervention strategy.

• Timely and accurate output/service to support good portfolio growth and optimized risk return decisions.

• Rigorous monitoring and review of new initiatives

• Pro-active engagement with business for strategy development and with CI/Collections for strategy execution/feedback

• Innovative, cost effective and automated solution/process for risk management initiatives

• Adherence to Group policy and process through success on audit / BRR / self assessment

Qualifications & Skills:

• First Degree in Finance Related Field plus MBA or relevant professional qualification

• Experience in corporate commercial lending

• Sound knowledge of local Regulations pertaining to credit

• Analytical skills

• Sound knowledge of lending parameters & credit life cycle

• Sound product knowledge of SME products, particularly trade and working capital products

• Clearance of CSA within 12 months of joining
