Dutse – Gov. Sule Lamido of Jigawa in Dutse on Wednesday inaugurated an 18-member committee to hasten preparations for President Goodluck Jonathan's two-day visit to the state.
Jonathan is scheduled to visit the state between Oct. 8 and Oct. 9.
Alhaji Banbadi Ibrahim, the Commissioner for Information, told newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting in Dutse that the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmad Gumel, would chair the committee.
He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Theophilus Kayode, the director of State Security Service and other commissioners would serve as members of the committee.
Ibrahim said that the committee had been mandated to make adequate preparations for a successful presidential visit.
He said Jonathan would inaugurate projects, such as the new state secretariat complex, NYSC Orientation camp, Dutse Sports Complex and Gifted Academy, Bamaina, during the visit .
The commissioner said the president would also lay the foundation of Dutse International Airport project during the visit. (NAN)
