Eligibility:

-Local students who obtain an APA from the Scholarships Office .

- International students who obtain an IPRS with an APA International from the Scholarships Office .

- Existing PhD candidates at Melbourne University are not eligible for this scheme .

- Current recipients of any other APA Top-up funding are not eligible for this scheme.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes

Scholarship Description: The Asia Institute, University of Melbourne, has three top-up scholarships available for full-time PhD research students commencing in 2013. We are seeking high quality candidates with a PhD project that aligns with the research strength of Asia Institute and the expertise of the nominated principal supervisor.

What it covers: These Scholarships are valued at $5,000 per annum tax free for three years full time study. There is no provision to hold these studentships on a part time basis and they cannot be extended beyond 3 years.

Selection process: Top-Up Scholarships are granted on a competitive basis and will only be awarded to outstanding candidates. Selection will be based on academic merit, research experience and a demonstrated congruence of the proposed PhD topic with the research strength of Asia Institute.
