Eligibility:

SKA SA provides talented postdoctoral radio astronomers from around the world an opportunity to engage in ongoing research projects related to the Square Kilometre Array and / or the MeerKAT radio telescope.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: The postdoctoral fellowships for 2013 are in the following research areas: Fast transients / pulsars High-redshifts molecular studies Cosmological Constraints with SKA and its precursor telescope – MeerKAT – (HI and Continuum) Multi-wavelength investigation of the Epoch of reionization Faraday rotation measurements and extra galactic polarization. SKA SA currently has five postdoctoral fellowships beginning in 2013.The fellowships are awarded for a period of two years (plus one additional year if agreed to by the host institution, the candidate and the SKA SA), renewable every six months based on progress.

What does it covers:The value of a postdoctoral fellowship is ZAR 325,000 per annum (non-taxable), excluding travel and equipment grants.
