ONDO State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, onThursday, took a swipe at opposition parties in the state, describing their vain attempt at downplaying numerous developmental projects in the state as an admission of their selfishness.
Mimiko, who spoke in Igbara Oke, in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state, in continuation of his re-election campaign tour, described his contenders as emergency governorship candidates and enemies of the people.
Specifically, the governor scored himself high in all department of governance, saying that his government had fulfilled its promises to the people of the state.
He noted that any government which could not impact positively on the lives of its peoplewithin a short period was not worth its salt.
"Some people were in office for six years andfor the period were busy writing a roadmap to nowhere and they now want to come again to start writing another thesis. When we are re-elected again, we shall build a library for them to start doing what they know best, writing endlessly while we shall be busy with good governance," he said.
Mimiko, who berated the opposition for attempting to foist on the people those he called ill-prepared and emergency governors, said "I have said it that anybody who wants to be governor must be fully prepared for it and with a clear cut out vision of how to make the people happy and better.
"We are not prepared for an emergency governor in Ondo State. Only a governor whohas pedigree, one who is fully prepared will be governor in Ondo State. I am not an emergency governor and I am also not a district officer, the people elected me and only you will re-elect me again.
