Title: Oshiomhole Releases N100m For Victims Of Flood

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State hasordered the immediate release of N100 million to provide relief materials for victims of flood disaster which sacked over 20 communities and rendered hundreds of thousands homeless in three local government areas of the state.         
         The communities included Anegbette, Udaba, Udochi, Usumegbe, Ofukpo, Agbabu, Ekperi, Agenebode, Ugbekpe and Ilushi in Etsako Central, Etsako East and Esan South-East Local Government areas of the state.         
         Oshiomhole made the announcement during his visit to the affected communities and victims of the flood disaster to have an on-the-spot assessment of the challenges facing the people and their communities at the weekend.                                   
         The flood, which was said to be a result of the River Niger overflowing its banks, submerged houses, farmlands, destroyed crops and household property, and left livestock dead, just as it displaced the inhabitants of the communities.                                     
          The Edo State governor said his administration would get trusted people to manage the relief materials, just as he warned that the materials should not be politicised as they were meant for everybody that was affected irrespective of age, gender and political affiliation.                           
         "We are sending relief materials which must be shared to everybody irrespective of which political party they belong to."        source:tribunenigeria
