ILORIN – A professor of Paediatrics, Professor Olugbenga Mokuolu, has said that "low cost but appropriate technologies and care strategies are important panacea for reducing neonatal deaths in Nigeria."
Some of these, according to him, include "the recycle incubation technique, use of oxygen concentrators, and fabricated radiant, among others."
Mokuolu, who said this while delivering the 114th inaugural lecture of the University of Ilorin, said "government should facilitate the scale up of some of these technologies and make them available at secondary and primary health care levels as a means of further improving access to quality health care."
He reiterated that breast feeding remained central to the survival of the babies hence promoting, supporting and protecting breastfeeding must be re-invigorated through active promotion of the 10 steps to successful breast-feeding and periodic re-certification of baby-friendly hospital initiative.

I agree, if those points raised are adhered to i see infant deaths after birth reducing drastically.
The way to go is still breastfeeding.Babies need much of it....

Breastfeeding is good but not cheap as we thought cos u have to eat well to be able to breast feed as supposed.
