Super Eagles returnee, Joel Obi has assured that he will be fighting fit for the second leg of Nigeria's all-important 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against visiting Lone Stars of Liberia on October 13 in Calabar.
Obi returned to the Inter Milan team, though he was on the substitutes' bench for the Wednesday match in the Serie A against Chievo which Inter won 2-0 away from home.
Obi said he should be fully fit before the Eagles' match against Liberia in Calabar.
"I am very happy to return to the Eagles and happier to return to the first team of Inter," said Obi to Goal.com .
"I believe by next week I should start getting involved in Inter's matches and I sincerely believe that this would help me to full recovery before the Liberia match in Nigeria,"the all-action midfielder added.
Obi also used the opportunity to thank Coach Stephen Keshi for believing in him by including him on the list of the 15 invited players for the Liberia match.
"I want to thank the coaching crew of Nigeria and the Manager (Stephen Keshi) for giving me another opportunity in the team.
"I am very happy for being invited and also tore-join my teammates. It's really nice to be back in the Eagles.
"I know the importance of this game and I want to give my best to the team if I am fielded that day.
"I want to compensate the coach for believing in me. I am using this medium to tellmy fans in Nigeria that Joel obi will give his best to make them proud in the match against Liberia and even in subsequent matches," he concluded
I just hope they all live up to expectation on that day because we cant afford to be missing for a second time in a row at the Nations Cup.
