UGHELLI—NATIONAL Association of Delta State Students, NADESSTU, has called for the immediate release of Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha, who was abduction last Sunday by unknown gunmen.
Prof. Eghagha was kidnapped at Abavo, near Agbor, on his way back to Asaba, the capital city, while his police orderly, Mr. Innocent Odah, a Sergeant, was killed in the process.
NADESSTU, in a statement by its National President, Mr. Godwin Ovuomaraini, said: "NADESSTU utterly condemns the kidnap of Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Eghagha and the killing of his police aide.
"It is the worst independence package for us in NADESSTU and we appeal to the abductors to release him. We also appeal to Deltans to always be vigilant and committed to the peace and security agenda of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan's administration."
