Title: Sultan Praises Jonathan On Education

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his commitment to development of the education sector.
The Sultan was speaking in Sokoto, yesterday, when he received the Minister of State for Education, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike  in his palace.
He said that the allocation to education in the 2013 budget confirmed the President's interest in kick-starting national development through functional education.
Alhaji Muhammad said that over the last one year, the nation's education sector had witnessed the desired growth as a result ofthe passionate implementation of policies and programmes by officials of the Federal Ministry of Education.
He said, "For the first time, education is taking the lion share of the budget. We, as partners in progress, will always support every effort geared towards developing education in the country.
"We urge a focus on technical and vocational education to engage our youths".
The Sultan said that investments in Almajiri education would help the affected states in resolving social and developmental challenges facing them.
Earlier, the Minister said that 80 percent of the almajiri schools would be handed over to states by November and pointed out that50 percent of the schools have been fully completed, while the remaining 50 percent have reached 80 percent completion level.
Wike said that the Jonathan administration remained committed to using education to improve on the living standard of Nigerians.
The Minister was in Sokoto State to visit on-going projects at the Federal Government Girls College, Tambuwal and Federal Government College, Sokoto.
The projects visited were blocks of classrooms, hostels, libraries and perimeter fencing of the schools. He expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the library project in Federal Government Girls College, Tambuwal, despite the non mobilisation of the contractor.

i know if not for the security problem of this country, this govt would have done alot

I wont commend him till i start seeing changes, allocating a large chunk of amount to education in the 2013 budget that might be looted is not enough but proper implementation.

Those praising the president must be in PDP.There is still no cause to praise him yet
