Eligibility:
• A Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering from a reputable university is mandatory. • Candidate must have achieved an average of at least 60% during the preceding master's degree. • Candidates must be under 40 years of age. • Candidates should be fluent in English. • Candidates should have an excellent academic record and research potential. • The scheme is open to nationals of all countries.

Scholarship Description: PhD degree in Energy and Engineering at the North-West University, South Africa, for 2013. Various projects exist within the research scheme. Candidates can choose one of the following topics for his/her PhD degree project: 1) Condition monitoring of industrial cables and power cables 2) Efficiency optimisation of electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) 3) Energy related research (energy efficiency, energy management and control) 4) Electrical machines, power transformers and energy 5) Feed-in tariff (grid-tie) power research – to feed electricity back into the grid
