Title: Mimiko takcles Akeredolu, Oke over election debate
Post by: Sunexx360 on Oct 14, 2012, 02:39 PM
Barely 24 hours after the governorship debate organized by the National Election Debate Broup (NEDG), Governor Olusegun Mimiko Campaign Organisation (MCO) yesterday lambasted is counterparts in ActionCongress of Nigeria, (ACN), Mr Rotimi Akeredolu SAN and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Chief Olusola Oke over their unpreparedness for governance in the state.
MCO in a statement by its Director of Media and Public Relations, Mr Kolawole Olabisi said the outcome of the debate has shown that the two opposition candidates could not govern properly if given the opportunity to rule the state.
The campaign group advised the ACN to withdraw from the contest as its candidate has demonstrated that it did not know much about the people and the state he is aspiring to govern just as he said Oke lacked the pedigree to govern the State but was on a vengeful mission for his godfather.
Olabisi noted that the dismal performance of Akeredolu at the debate where he not only displayed a ignorance about governance, but show lack of respect and disdain for the people whom he aspire to govern, has proven right its earlier assertion that the ACN would come a distant third in the election.
MCO while expressing regrets that Oke, being a lawyer, could descend on the nation's Judiciary labeling it as corrupt and lacking in integrity said that when lawyers start attacking the law, then the nation is in trouble.
But the Olusola Oke Campaign Organization said , the candidate of the PDP is ready and fully prepared for governance. Contrary to theparroting of the Labour Party, Oke convinced the people of Ondo state both in character and adherence to the rule of the debate. The candidate through its Deputy Director of Press, Mr Rotimi Ogunleye said it was the attitude of Labour Party (LP)'s candidate, Dr Mimiko during the debate that showed the incumbent was not prepared for governance.
Ogunleye said "It has been conveyed to the global audience through his display of aggression and indecorous behaviour, that the candidate of the Labour Party Dr Rahman Mimiko has shown that he is not prepared for governance but indecent politics and protracted deceit. He has been indicted by theInspector General of Police of forgery therebyplacing a huge credibility question on Mimikoprocured mandate."
It is an open secret that the governor has been pouching the judiciary in the state trying to use it to destabilize our great party, but for the few good hands in the judiciary and our legal team, he was been caught aware. The candidate of the LP carries a burden of dignity crises. Apart a forgery case hanging on him, he was recently fingered in the illegal withdrawal of N700million from Owena Oil Limited."
Olabisi had said "Isn't it a shame that for Oke,who has had two so-called mega rallies at theDemocracy Park built by Dr Olusegun Mimiko within two years in office can call Mimiko's monumental projects for which accolade and awards have come severally to the State cosmetic? Yet his principal who ruled the State could not point to any single project that outlasted his regime; it goes to show then that his rallies too were cosmetic rallies if they had been held on a cosmetic project.
"Isn't it also sad that a man who wants to be governor could open his mouth to say that the school pupils in Ondo State don't need the mega schools which had been dubbed the most 21st Century compliant and first of its kind in Nigeria by the Federal Ministry of Education? Isn't it also a disservice that he says that the Abiye Hospitals should be merged as an arm of the State Specialist hospitals? These are the manner of those who wants to govern us."
According to Olabisi, ACN in the State was not in existence stressing that within the last three and a half years, four different electionshave been had with ACN coming a distant third in all of the elections while funny enough its leaders strut about boasting to capture Ondo State to its empire.
His words: "At the debate Akeredolu was like a fish out of water, struggling in bad language to attack the good works of Dr Olusegun Mimiko who had in the last three and a half years placed Ondo State on the path of sustainable development. He has shown that he is nothing but the agent of a godfather who knows nothing about Ondo State but could reel off hand information about his real hometown, Ibadan ."
