A 35-year-old Nigerian woman, Ejima Okwusindi, who assaulted her boy friend by bathing him with hot 'indomie' noodle was on Wednesday arraigned at an Asaba Chief Magistrates' Court on a two count charge of assault and damage.
Police prosecutor Augustine Otubu, told the court that the accused committed the offenceon Oct. 3 at the Toll Gate area of Asaba.
Otubu alleged that the accused, on the same date and place, unlawfully assaulted her boy friend, Kingsley Okwunima by pouring hot indomie on his ear which caused him harm.
According to him, the offence is punishable under Section 355 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol. 1, of Delta State, 2006.
He said that the accused on the same day andplace unlawfully destroyed two crates of eggsworth N1,500, two plastic chairs valued at N2,000, one cooking stove worth N3,500 andfresh tomatoes.
Otubu also said that the accused on the sameday and place destroyed onions valued at N500 and a carton of indomie worth N1, 350,all belonging to Okwurima.
He said that the offence contravened Section 451 of Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol. 1, of Delta, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Augustina Monye, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Monye ordered that the surety should reside within Asaba, provide two passport photographs and swear to an affidavit of means.
She adjourned the case to October 25 for hearing. P.M News
