Kano State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with recent gun attacks in the State in which two Policemen and two Federal Road Safety Corps officers were killed.
The State police commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Idris said on Thursday in a press statement that eight of the arrested suspects were being quizzed over the killing of two policemen in Kofar Dawanu area while the other two are believed to be the mastermindsof the attack that claimed the lives two FRSC officials in Madobi area of Kano State.
The command also said one of the suspects sustained gunshot injuries during the process of arrest and later died in the hospital and the second suspect one, IbrahimInusa of Sudanese parentage with no fixed address, is in Police custody.
The suspect, Ibrahim Inusa together with others still at large, specialises in the killing ofinnocent citizens in the state. During investigation he confessed to have organizedand participated in various killings of civiliansand security personnel at Gaida, Sheka, Gwaleand other parts of Kano Metropolis including the recent killing of FRSC officials along SabonTiti Madobi Road in Kano.
He claimed that the slain FRSC officers had arrested their motorcycle and this was the reason why they planned and attacked them.
The suspect also confessed that their gang deceived the victims with a GSM call that therewas an accident along Madobi Road, which needed their intervention and they ambushed them on their way to the imaginary accident scene. ThisDay Newspaper
