IBADAN – The peace that Oyo State residents had been enjoying since Governor Abiola Ajimobi assumed office was ruptured yesterday as students of the Government College (GCI) and Apata Community Grammar School engaged in a free-for-all which left no fewer than 15 students injured and 20 vehicles vandalised.

The violent clash which happened at Apata area of Ibadan, temporarily paralysed commercial and vehicular activities.

The vehicles vandalised were destro- yed when the angry students reportedly pelted one another with stones. While this lasted, some vehicles plying the roads had their windscreens shattered.

As at 5.20p.m; some of the sticks and stones used littered the roadside.

Trouble erupted in a hide-out where some students from both schools had gone to engage in gambling.

The information had from Apata Community Grammar School was said to have cheated in the course of the game on Wednesday.

The following day, which was yesterday, some of the students of Government College Ibadan, who reportedly lost their money to the boy from the other school on Wednesday, allegedly went to Apata Community Grammar School and started beating the boy.

This led to free-for-all.
