Bamako - The United Nations and the African Union will open permanent offices in the Malian capital Bamako to co-ordinate respective actions in north Mali which has been occupied by armed Islamist groups for more than six months, senior officials of the two organisations said Friday.
The announcements were made separately by UN deputy secretary-general Jan Eliasson and African Union chief Nkosazana
