Imo state football association has expressed sadness over the demise of Vanguard Newspaper's ace photojournalist Sylva Eleanya who died on sunday in Lagos.
Chairman of Imo FA Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam in a release described Eleanya's death as shocking, even as he noted that he was a professional that did his job well with humility.
"Eleanya was a great photojournalist and one thing that endeared him to me was his humility.

As a person, he was very close to me and I did enjoy working with him," Uchegbulam stated.
Uchegbulam while praying God to grant his soul eternal rest also commiserated with his immediate family,Vanguard newspapers and the Sportswriters Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
Also, Nollywood star actor, Diewait Ikpechukwu also said that he was devastated to hear about the demise of Sylva Eleanya. "His jovial nature endeared him to me. You cannot be sad if Sylva is around you.
He was friendly with everybody. And on the job, he was one of the best photojournalists of our time'', Diewait mourned.
Gateway FC mourns Eleanya
The management, staff and players of Gateway Football Club of Ogun State have condoled with the Vanguard family over the sudden death of ace photojournalist, Sylva Eleanya who passed on Saturday.
In a terse letter signed by the General Manager of the club, Gboyega Okegbenro, the club said Eleanya's death "bleeds our souls with double impact as it is coming on the heels of the passing on of another strong member of the Vanguard family, Ogbonnaya Amadi."
The club prayed God to give the entire Vanguard family the fortitude to bear the loss. "To his immediate family he left behind, our thoughts are with them at this painful hour," the statement added.
