Title: Ndume gave Adoke’s phone number to Boko Haram-SSS
Post by: DT on Oct 25, 2012, 08:30 AM
An Assistant Director with the State Security Services (SSS), Mr James Ineh yesterday told the Federal High Court Abuja that Senator Mohammed Ndume (PDP, Borno South) gave the mobile phone number of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke (SAN) to the Boko Haram.

Testifying before the Court, Inneh said Ndume gave the number of the AGF to a member of the Boko Haram, Mohammed Kodunga, who has now been convicted, to threaten Adoke to influence the decision of the governorship election tribunal in Borno state in favour of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Ndume however, said he established the link to facilitate peace as a member of the Presidential Committee on Security in the North East Zone.

Ineh said the director of SSS in the National Assembly was asked to invite the accused (Ndume) to their office and added that the other person mentioned by Kodunga in his statement apart from the AGF is late.

He admitted that Ndume gave some materials he obtained from the Boko Haram sect to Vice President Namadi Sambo and DG SSS as a member of the presidential committee.

"We investigated his claim by using our tradecraft. We did not have any audience with the VP but we investigated.

"His phone was sent to experts for analysis and after the phones were analyzed, we did not tell him about our findings. He was not there when the analyses were made.

"Kodunga did not say that the accused has been assisting the sect financially. We did not find anything incriminating on Ndume when we searched his house. We did not invite any member of the committee to verify the claim of the accused person in his statement. Some of the materials we took from his house were laptops, GSM phones, International Passport and other things", Ineh said.

He said "The fact that Konduga was tried and convicted of terrorism acts is enough to show that the accused is also liable.''

Justice Gabriel Kolawole adjourned the case to November 1, November 5 and December 11 for continuation. (NAN)
