Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Mr Dimeji Bankole, former Speaker House of the Representatives are to attend the PDP maiden caucus meeting in the South-West Zone.
Among those expected at the meeting are former PDP governors and chieftains of the party. This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Zonal Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kayode Babade, on Thursday in Ibadan.
According to him, the meeting is expected to take far-reaching decisions on the progress of the party in the zone.
"The Chief Segun Oni-led Zonal Exco is poised to reposition the party and return it to elections winning path," he said.
Babade said that all current National Executive Council members, BOT, deputies, ex-officio members, former National Working Committee members, current National Assembly members are expected to attend the mee.ting.
Also expected to attend are serving and former ministers and special advisers to the president and all former principal officers in the National Assembly.
The statement said that former governors (military and civilian), former deputy governors, former national vice-chairmen, serving and former ambassadors were also expected to attend the meeting.
Also expected are former senators (from the Second Republic till date), former speakers and deputy speakers of state Houses of Assembly.
"All current members of the zonal exco, all current members of state Houses of Assembly, all current chairmen of federal boards and all former secretaries to state government are expected to attend.
"Our vision and mission in the zonal exco is for all our members to come together under a party that is all-inclusive.
"We hope that with meetings like the one we are holding on Saturday, we will achieve that goal.''
Babade warned that uninvited member of the party would not be allowed to enter the meeting venue, adding, "It is not going to be an all-comers meeting". (NAN)
