Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, former governors and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West zone will, on Saturday, converge on Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for the party's caucus meeting.
The meeting is the first since the party caucus was enlarged by the Chief Segun Oni-led zonal executive council and it is expected to take far reaching decisions.
Zonal Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kayode Babade, said in a statement that preparations were in top gear for the meeting, adding that, "the Oni-led zonal exco is poised to reposition the party and return itto the elections winning path."
Apart from Obasanjo and Bankole, Babade said other members of the extended Zonal Executive Committee expected at the meeting include all current National Executive Council members (NWC, BOT, deputies, ex-officio members), all former National Working Committee (NWC) members, all current National Assembly members, all serving and former ministers and special advisers to the president and all former principal officers of the National Assembly.
Others are all former governors (military and civilian), all former deputy governors, all former national vice-chairmen, all serving andformer ambassadors, former senators (from the Second Republic till date), all former speakers and deputy speakers of state Houses of Assembly.
