Ashley Cole and his
representatives expect Chelsea
to set up another round of
contract negotiations before
Christmas but the club have yet
to make an improved offer to
the England left-back, ESPN
understands.
Cole, whose contract expires
next summer, has yet to agree a
deal to stay at Stamford Bridge,
with the Blues' reluctance to
offer any players over 30 more
than a one-year deal proving a
major obstacle.
That initial one-year offer has
been flatly rejected by Cole and
his representatives, although
they remain hopeful of
convincing the club to improve
the length of the new contract.
