Cross river government has announced that the state recorded zero child, maternal death in 2011.

Barrister Efiok Cobham, the state deputy governor, who disclosed this at the congress of the African-Middle East Association of Gastroenterology , AMAGE, at the Trinapa Business and Leisure Resort, Calabar, said the feat was as a result of the state government's efforts in the healthcare delivery.
