GLO secures win over NPL sponsorship battle

Nigeria Premier League and telecommunications company, Globacom will offficially enter into a title partnership deal on February 1, I can report.

An official of the League Management Comittee of the Premier League disclosed that the February 1 date for signing the title sponsorship contract will further confirm the kickoff date of February 16 for the 2012/2013 season.

'' On February 1, the title sponsorship contract will be signed with Globacom and every detail concerning the deal will be unveiled. This title sponsorship is to also show that we are genuinely working towards ensuring that the league starts on February 16 among other things we are planning '' said the official.

I was informed that the NPL and Globacom will enter into a four-year title partnership deal on February 1 worth N2.6 billion {$41 million}.
