August 2011: Armed robbers went from house to house in search of members of the vigilante groups in some villages under Dansadau Emirate, Maru LGA of Zamafara State. 10 persons were reportedly killed in the attack by the gang. The killers were said to be on a revenge mission after some of them were said to have been extra-judicially executed by members of the local vigilante groups mobilised by the people of Dansadau and environs to halt incessant robbery cases.
