NFF set Confed Cup semi-final target

The Nigeria Football Federation want a semi-final finish for the Super Eagles in the FIFA Confederation Cup in June this year in Brazil.

Nigeria is drawn in group A alongside World Champions Spain, world cup semi finalist,Uruguay and Tahiti.The two top teams from the two groups will qualify for the semi final.Group B is made up of Brazil, Italy, Japan and Mexico
This much was disclosed by NFF executive committee spokes man, Emeka Inyama while briefing the media in Abuja yesterday.

Inyanma recounted that the last time the Eagles participated in the competition was in 1995 in Saudi Arabia where they finished 4th.He revealed the NFF expect Eagles to do better by reaching the semi finals this time around.

"As African champions who hope to be good representatives of the continent by at least making it to the last four. It is do able and we shall encourage the team to do well.

"Our commitment is to is to ensure that in brazil, the African champions are fully prepared to over-power the likes of Spain, Uruguay and Tahiti in our group.

He further disclosed that the NFF have shifted focus to the 2014 World Cup qualifiers after winning the Afcon pointing out the Eagles next match will be against Kenya in Calabar on March 23.
