Tottenham hopes on Bale as Inter clash draws near

English club Tottenham Hotspur will rest their hopes of a Europa League semifinal spot on the shoulders of Gareth Bale as they welcome Italian club Inter Milan to White Hart Lane on Thursday night.

Many will be forgiven for thinking they are watching Champions League football on Thursday night as some of Europe's top clubs face-off in the Europa League round of 16.

The stand-out performance for Thursday night football will feature Spurs and Inter, a match to be televised live on SS3 HD and SS3.

Labelled "a tremendous player" by Spurs manager André Villas-Boas, Bale has come a long way since he first met last-16 rivals Inter.

With nine goals in his last seven games for Tottenham, Bale is in the best form of his career and has almost single-handedly steered the north London club to third place in the Premier League and the Europa League round of 16.

"He is the difference to the team at the moment. He is a tremendous player and he inspires everybody. It has a direct influence on every single player when you see Gareth playing at this level," said Villas Boas about the player.
