Roles and responsibilities:

i. Operations/Professional/Business

• Lead and ensure the management of EHS excellence at the Project Rising Sun construction site

• Provide input to "Site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Focal Point" and/or site management on various EHS issues

• Interface with the project leadership team to drive ownership for implementation of EHS policy and procedures

• Develop and support programs to increase safety awareness and commitment throughout the duration of and leading up to the completion & delivery of Project Rising Sun

• Ensure implementation of BAT's Environment, Health and Safety Management Systems – coordinate and support the EHS system throughout the construction period

• Implement BAT Security expectation

• Lead and act as the focal point in EHS issue resolution throughout the duration of Project Rising Sun

• Ensure appropriate emergency procedures are developed and maintained on the construction site

• Ensures EH&S processes and systems are effective, transparent and regularly reviewed and a set of key EH&S KPIs is established, monitored and relevant actions are taken.

ii. Management

• Keep EHS standard operating procedures and manuals in place.

• Ensure EHS task closing in a timely manner

• Conduct internal corporate EHS reporting and stay connected with the global EHS Teams

• Understand legal requirements and ensure strict compliance to legal and corporate EHS standards

• Support coordination of Facility Management activities, consultants and onsite contractors

• Assure EHS resources are effectively optimized, trained and motivated.

• Plan and perform EHS training as required

• Plan and perform EHS audits/ inspection as required

iii. Leadership

• Provide context and ensure that our EHS architecture impacts our decisions, behaviours and processes.

• Drives and aligns EH&S activities to ensure the meet and deliver against the project completion requirements.

iv. Relationship

Develops and maintains excellent relationship with key stakeholders (internal & external) to ensure adherence to all regulations and prescriptions.

v. Innovation

• Actively searches and promotes new business processes, practices, procedures, materials, equipment to improve key EH&S indicators while preserving business interests

• Constantly seeks for and utilizes customers' input in design of EH&S programs, products and projects.,Nigeria

Skill set:

• Degree in any Engineering, Safety engineering, Industrial safety field or its equivalent professional qualification

• EHS experience in very broad conditions and situations

• Proven track record

Work experience: 15

Highest qualification: B.Eng
