Job Title: Senior Engineer, Mechanical and Electrical

Job Summary: Provide on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of M&E equipment including diesel generators, ATS/ AMF panels, gear switches, rectifiers and battery systems, UPS, inverters, PDF/ APD panels and HVAC

Principal Functions:

•   Conduct complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans, including preparation of power system device evaluation, protective device co-ordination and arc flash studies

•   Design power system facilities and equipment and co-ordinate construction, operation and maintenance of electric power generating, receiving and distribution stations, transmission lines and distribution systems and equipment which provide support during critical network incidents

•   Facilitate and ensure 100% power availability at all network sites. Track power outages with the view of driving continuous improvement in network availability and service quality (root cause analysis)

•   Design and plan layout of generating plants, transmission and distribution lines

•   Work with both in-house team and contractors to implement all preventive and corrective maintenance activities

•   Update technical documentation, drawings and operational logs pertaining to construction and maintenance activities

•   Prepare drawings on specific types of equipment and materials to be used in construction and equipment installation

•   React to emergency faults and ensure that all faults are rectified promptly within contracted SLAs

•   Ensure regular audit of M&E installations for BTS, BSC MGW and data centres

•   Complete and submit reports covering all job activities

•   Estimate labour, material, construction and equipment costs

•   Inspect completed installations for compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards

Educational Requirements:

•   First degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering

•   Postgraduate (M.Sc.)/ professional certifications/ qualifications in a related field will be an added advantage

Experience,Skills & Competencies:

•   Four (4) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience (GSM/ UMTS) in electric power reticulation and generator and air conditioner maintenance

•   Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate strong experience in the following areas:

•   Electrical power systems analysis ? including diesel generators, rectifiers, UPS, inverters, PDF/ APD panels, ATS/ AMF panels, gear switches, HVAC, public mains power supply, isolation systems, etc

•   Short circuit co-ordination, load flow analysis and protective device co-ordination

•   DC power engineering in telecoms

•   Operations and maintenance standards, procedures and quality

•   Client/ contractor/ suppliers relations management

•   Statistical and operational analysis and reporting

•   Good knowledge of mechanical design and power systems

•   Comprehensive understanding of process flows, work instructions and quality standards

•   Good knowledge of telecoms network operating principles

•   Ability to develop equipment and systems specifications
