Kenya won't shine in Calabar

Nigeria centre-back, Godfrey Oboabona, has made it clear that Kenya stand no chance of surviving in Calabar when both teams clash this Saturday.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria play their first competitive game since emerging as African champions at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations when they play hosts to Kenya's Harambee Stars on Matchday 3 of the Fifa World Cup qualification.

Oboabona is confident that the Nigerian squad will ride on their status as African champions to secure a win over the Kenyans at the UJ Esuene Stadium.

"They cannot survive defeat this Saturday with the kind of team we have now by God's grace. I'm not underrating them but I'm confident of what we are capable of doing.

"As champions of Africa we deserve respect and they won't survive because we won't beat them anything less than two-nil," said Oboabona, who played an instrumental role in Nigeria's triumph at the Afcon in South Africa this year.

Oboabona is, however, unfazed by the news that Celtic midfielder, Victor Wanyama will be part of the Kenyan contingent.

"Every team have their own stars and we have ours. So we are not concerned about them or their style of play. We are only concerned about ourselves and want to win this game by the special grace of God," said the Sunshine Stars' defender.

Nigeria's Super Eagles currently lead Group F of the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualification for Africa on four points ahead of Namibia, Malawi and Kenya.
