Purpose of the Role:

•         Ensure the safety and environmental protection of the people and environment at his respective location e.g Foods factory

•         Advice on ways of working safely and protecting the environment in location

•         The SHE Officer is required to be able to stop any operation in his area which he feels is unsafe

Key Responsibilities:

•         Advice Factory on safe ways of carrying out jobs

•         Audit the safe operation of Machines in respective location

•         Conduct Safety and Environmental trainings to Contractors and Employees

•         Identify areas for environmental improvement in location

•         Audit employee behavior in location

•         Work with factory management to  unsafe conditions, hazards, near misses and close all gaps

Qualification and Experience:

•         An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in any science related field

•         Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals certification would be added advantage

•         Or Nebosh Certification

•         Minimum of 2-3 years safety related experience in a reputable company

•         Working Knowledge of machine guarding

•         Working Knowledge of electrical safety

•         Working knowledge of Permit to work system

•         Working knowledge of site yard traffic safety

•         Knowledge of construction safety

•         Knowledge of Environmental management

•         Working knowledge of Microsoft office

•         Presentation Skills for training
