Nigerian Tourism Celebrates With Fuji Maestro Kollington

The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, represented by its Director- General Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has promised to collaborate with Fuji megastar, General Kollington Ayinla as he celebrates 50 years on stage and launch of his music foundation.

Otunba Olusegun Runsewe made this promise when the Fuji musician visited the tourism village in Abuja.

He commended Kollington's innovative use of local music percussion that have stood the test of time while adding that the Fuji master needs to be celebrated as he has successfully managed a music career of 50 years devoid of controversy.

"We need to celebrate our best, especially those who have contributed immensely to the development of indigenous music genres like Fuji and Juju." Kollington in turn thanked the Director General and drew attention to the fact that  tourism, culture and music are related.

The celebration  which is expected to attract governors from Lagos, Kwara, Osun and Ekiti states is billed for the 28 April in Lagos.

The celebration will feature other maestro's of different genres of local music: Juju exponents, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey,  Fuji masters; Pasuma Wonder and Akande Obesere as well as Afro-beat musican, Femi Ransome Kuti and many more.

He is worth being celebrated. Legends of the music industry deserve such celebrations once in a while. Big kudos to him.
