Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has said the promoted club could spend around £25 million on new recruits as they prepare for life in the Premier League.

Malaysian businessman Tan is keen to invest further money into the club ahead of their step up in division but is wary of over-spending.

"We need to strategise well and we'd like to spend some money - maybe 20 to 25 million," Tan said to the BBC. "Others have spent a big amount of money and don't do well, so we will try to spend smartly."

If they spend even more its worth it. They really need good players to uplift the club for the fans
