Ogun State - OGSG to set up panel on Ado-Odo crisis

 A panel of inquiry is to be set up by the Ogun State Government to look into the immediate and remote causes of the crisis that engulfed the Ado Odo community during which the traditional ruler, Oba Lateef Adeniran Akanni was beaten and his palace, set ablaze.

   The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, represented by his Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Basorun Muyiwa Oladipo stated this while assessing the extent of the damage done and other issues that led to the fracas.     He appealed to the people of the Community to shun violence and maintain peace in order to promote socio- economic development of the area, warning that government would not under whatever guise condone act of lawlessness that could lead to the destruction of lives and property in any part of the State.     Governor Amosun reminded them that even when aggrieved about issues, there are acceptable ways of lodging complaints and seeking redress, rather than taking laws into their hands.     He assured of government’s readiness to find a lasting solution to the crisis and enjoined residents to give the panel necessary information that could be useful to the panel in carrying out its assignment.
