House Advocates Stiffer Penalties For Environmental Polluters

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Environment, Hon Uche Ekwunife has advocated stiffer penalties for environmental polluters. Hon. Ekwunife, who spoke at a news briefing with National Assembly Correspondents, also called for a national policy that would check cases of environmental degradation at all levels of government. According to her "protecting the environment is the duty of all and that the environment is a reflection of the well being of a nation".
