coat-of-arms                        UNDERSTANDING REACHED AT THE END OF THE MEETING BETWEEN THE JOINT RESEARCH AND ALLIED INSTITUTIONS SECTOR UNIONS AND THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF LABOUR & PRODUCTIVITY, CHIEF EMEKA WOGU, CON HELD ON APRIL 30, 2013 AT THE CONFERENCE ROOM OF THE HONOURABLE MINISTER, ABUJA

1)     On April 30, 2013, the leadership of the Trade Unions constituting the Joint Research and Allied Institutions Sector Unions (JORAISU) met with the Honourable Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, CON over issues emanating from the on-going strike.

2)     After due deliberations, the Trade Unions, agreed to suspend their on-going strike for nine (9) weeks to enable the Federal Government conclude the meeting of a High level Government Panel that would equally involve the Trade Unions, as well as fully address all unresolved issues in the dispute.

3)     Workers in the Research Sector are to resume work on Monday, May 6, 2013

4)     In view of the above, there shall be no victimization of any worker arising from any act during the strike period.
