Following the Thursday attack  on members of the
Oyo State opposition party, the Accord, by people
purportedly sponsored by the state government,
leaders of party have lampooned the state
government and the ruling ACN for their denial of
involvement in the violence. They accused the
state ACN of  intolerance of the opposition.
.
The party stalwarts, including the leader, Senator
Rashidi Ladoja, who spoke to Sunday Vanguard
during a meeting in Ibadan, yesterday, said the
violence against their members and declaration
programme was not the first.  They accused the
government and its party of  resorting  to mayhem
to silence them because they were jittery by the
progress of  Accord.
.
Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his party immediately
after the violence had denied their involvement in
it even as the governor stressed that his
administration would not hesitate to visit the full
weight of the
law on anyone who breaches the peace of the state.
.
Ladoja wanted the governor to prove his innocence
on the attack which  happened at Olomi, Oluyole,
saying perpetrators were escorted to the venue of
the programme by two vehicles of the state
government-controlled security outfit, Operation
Burst.
