Ogun State - Ogun Assembly speaker complements executive efforts on human capital development

 In his efforts to complement the Ogun State Government’s free and qualitative education programme, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi has commenced the distribution of educational and instructional materials alongside furniture to 20 primary schools in his Yewa North 1 State constituency.

   Presenting the materials to the various schools which cut across seven wards in his constituency, Rt. Hon. Adekunbi noted that the gesture was a fulfillment of his electoral promises to extend dividends of democracy to his people.     “Today, we are recording another milestone in the annals of our socio- political history as your dutiful representative. You are aware that we are here to distribute desks and benches as well as uniforms to our schools and pupils respectively in fulfillment of our electioneering campaign to our people” the Adekunbi said.     While enumerating his achievements so far as the representative of the constituency in the State House of Assembly, the Speaker disclosed that 33 students benefitted from his NECO Examination sponsorship in 2012 session, adding that some of the students from the area had gained admission to the universities and polytechnics courtesy of the sponsorship programmes.     Rt. Hon. Adekunbi, added that he had sunk two boreholes at Comprehensive High Schools and African Church Primary School, Ayetoro in order to provide clean portable water for students, explaining that more programmes which included the establishment of an up-to-date ICT centre in the constituency as well as introduction of special award of excellence for teachers were in the pipeline.
