Emmanuel Adebayor hopes Wigan's FA Cup
triumph will inspire them to shock his
former club Arsenal tonight and put
Tottenham's fate back into their own hands
in the fight for the top four.
.
The Spurs striker hit the winner in a vital 2-1 victory
at Stoke on Sunday, taking the Lilywhites above
Arsenal into fourth place in the Premier League.
.
However, the Gunners can reclaim the positio when
they play their game in hand against Wigan at the
Emirates tonight.
.
If Roberto Martinez's Latics claim a point then
Tottenham will regain control of their own destiny,
simply needing to beat Sunderland at White Hart
Lane on Sunday to qualify for the Champion League.
.
And Adebayor is hoping Wigan spring another
surprise, having beaten Manchester City 1-0 in the
FA Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday.
.
"We'll be cheering for Wigan, we hope they can beat
Arsenal," said the Togo forward. "I was surprised by
the way they played in the FA Cup Final, although
don't get me wrong, we know they have a goo team
with players like Maloney, Kone, McManaman -
they've got a lot of good players.
.
"They put enthusiasm and spirit into the game, they
fought for every single ball and they deserved t beat
City. Now they have two big games to save their
season.
.
"If they find a way to save their season, it will be
tremendous and now they have to go to Arsena and
do their job there.
.
"It will be tough for them, but I think now with the
confidence, with the belief that they have just won
the FA Cup, it's a good time for them to play
Arsenal."
.
Adebayor believes Tottenham deserve to qualify for
the Champions League, but he concedes he doe not
know if he will be at the club next season.
.
"We're a team that beat Manchester United away,
and we beat Manchester City at our place, so I think
we have done quite well this season," he said.
.
"Do we deserve to be in the Champions League? I think yes.
.
But Everton would say the same, so let's keep going
and see what happens at the weekend.
.
"Will I stay at Spurs? I don't know, I think a lot of
people are writing me off, but at the moment I'm
with Tottenham and I'll keep working hard.
.
"I've had a tough season with the African Cup of
Nations, injury and suspension - I've had everything
this season.
.
What I can say right now is that I'm a Tottenham
player."

Well Arsenal is currently leading 1 goal to nil courtesy a header from Podolski. The match aint done yet so anything can still happen.

Sorry Adebayor, the Gunner won the match. Hopefully, the Gunners will win the games against Newcastle.
