Job Title: Consultant

Overview of the Position: JMJ is seeking talented individuals to join our tightly-knit group as a Consultant. We desire an energetic individual with experience in consulting and/or other substantial industry experience. Our Consultants are passionate team players with a keen interest in developing people beyond their limitations. Regular client interaction is the norm, and employees in this position often work on multiple assignments at one time. Individuals in this position may lead components of engagements on a limited basis which can involve limited supervisory responsibilities.

Expectations of the Position:

•   Must be able to participate in complex engagements, on a global basis if required.

•   Hold junior and develop senior relationships both on engagements and strategic relationships not on the engagement.

•   Provide support in sales conversations as a subject expert.

•   Participate on JMJ teams, such as Practice Councils, to further the business.

•   Be a role model on JMJ business practices such as reportable time, expense report, and JSA submittal, holding EM meetings, scheduling engagements, attending internal activities such as community calls, development sessions, etc.

•   Working in close partnership with our consulting team to enable site based leaders to cause a step change in their leadership of safety and environmental protection

•   Delivering workshops and training sessions, coaching teams and individuals for impact

•   Positively influence site culture through building relationships with key people and leveraging informal networks

•   Building trust and strategic relationships with clients such that they continue to request for our consulting services

General Responsibilities:

•   Deliver assigned work to achieve the desired impact.

•   Delivery per engagement plan.

•   Meeting aligned goals in Consultant's role in sales (CRIS).

•   Own development of self.

•   Follow work processes.

•   Attend Engagement Review meetings when leading engagement components and participate in a way that informs the team and the Engagement Manager of the status and path forward. Utilize these meetings as a means to forward personal development and the engagement's impact, profitability and team effectiveness.

•   Coach for impact, follow the agreed plan and complete coaching forms and documentation.

•   Subject matter expert in sales or referral conversation.

•   Collaborate and coordinate with other regional counterparts on global engagements.

•   Educate, own and fulfill on the Regional Focus.

•   Conduct JSA's for travel outside JMJ's core geography and follow the HSES Management System.

•   Assure the health and well-being of other community members and any consultants being supervised.

•   Communicate openly, honestly and responsibly.

•   Work in partnership with external consultants when co-delivering and supervising.

•   Be a model of JMJ's values and practice principles.

•   Immediately inform Engagement Manager of concerns about or for new consultants.

•   Develop a broad understanding of the work planning and resource management processes.

•   Follow, implement and comply with all JMJ Reporting Practices, including Trip Reporting, Time Reporting, Expense Reporting and Calendaring.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Required Skills;

•   General knowledge of the principles and practices of consulting.

•   Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of transformational and management consulting.

•   Knowledge of the organizations and operations of administrative programs.

•   Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments.

•   Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirement of senior management.

•   Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the global community.

•   Proven ability to cause transformational change for individuals and groups through coaching and influence

•   A passion for safety and caring for the environment and a desire to instill this passion in others

•   At least five years relevant work experience in heavy construction, mining or oil and gas industry

•   Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, excellent presentation, coaching abilities and creating a presence are essential

•   Highly developed interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with personal idiosyncrasies and multicultural issues

•   Demonstrated aptitude for learning new techniques, proficient in multi-tasking and prioritizing, owning and participating in multiple projects

•   Willingness to work a back-to-back rotation on site if required

Work Schedule:

•   8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

•   Individual should be able to work a steady 40-hour work week with occasional requirement for overtime in the evenings or weekends to meet deadlines.

•   This position requires extensive travel.

•   Non-smoking environment.
