Obafemi Awolowo University - OAU STUDENTS RE-DESIGN EDM BUILDING

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the ObafemiAwolowo

University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Rowland Ndoma-Egba, has commended four students of

the institution for re-designing the building of the Faculty of Environmental Design

and Management (EDM) in a way that stands out the structure as the most

beautiful building on campus.

The students, who are in their Masters Degree level in Architecture, are:

ADEWOLE, Paul Boluwatiwi, OWOLABI, IfeoluwaTitilope, IKERIONWU,

JerobihamUday and OKUNROBO, Austin Osahon.

The Chairman, who was visibly elated, appreciated the ingenuity and architectural

finesse which each of the students brought to bear on the re-designed structure and

had to give a personal donation of Nl00,000:00, from his pocket, to each of the

four students for standing up to the challenge of re-designing the building of their

Faculty.

Prof. Ndoma-Egba said: "What you have done today is a clear indication that this

country has a future with youths like you. We shall continue to seek solutions in-

house for any problem confronting us and we shall fully engage any Department

that can find appropriate solutions to any of our challenges. If we have

Mathematical challenges, we refer it to the Department of Mathematics for solution.It is therefore my pleasure to present this certificate a cash donation to you all.

 

Commenting the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. BamitaleOmole stated

that Prof.Ndoma-Egba has demonstrated qualities of leadership by example which

all men of goodwill must strive to emulate. In his words: "Sir, you have really

taught us a great lesson today by this kind gesture and the demonstration of

leadership by example. You believe in hardwork and you have duly rewarded

hardwork and diligence. We shall follow your footsteps in this regard".

The students, thanked the Pro-Chacellor and the other members of the

Governing Council for granting them the indulgence to showcase their God-given

talents in their discipline and that they shall forever remember today for good in

their entire lives. They also added that this is the first time they would come in

contact with the Pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor and for shaking hands with

them.
