Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: Sea Trucks Group (STG)

Reports to:

•   Engineering Manager (functional);

•   Senior Project Engineer (project related).

Liaises with:

•   Senior Project Engineer;

•   Cad Engineers.

Directs:

Trainees and Draughtsmen involved in structural calculations and drafting;

Responsible for:

•   Timely completion of assigned engineering task;

•   Quality of prepared engineering deliverable, i.e. in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company requirements;

•   "Fitness for purpose" of engineering deliverables;

•   Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) applicable to structural Engineering;

•   Ensures Drawings are completed on time and checked for errors before transmitting to client;

•   Ensures the structural integrity of materials used in projects;

•   Engineering support during execution phase of the project (fabrication, offshore).

Authorised to:

•   Request for input for preparation of assigned engineering deliverable;

•   Review of applicable engineering deliverables.

Education and Training:

•   Bachelor Degree in Civil engineering or relevant engineering discipline;

•   Relevant offshore training.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in offshore engineering.

Knowledge & Skills:

•   Conversant with the use of AutoCAD software;

•   Ability to generate MTO from structural Drawings;

•   Good knowledge of design codes, standards and specifications;

•   Practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and construction techniques;

•   Good knowledge of Design/ Calculation software and analysis tool;

•   Good knowledge of Company Management System (CMS) ensuring compliance to quality, health, safety, environment and security (QHSES) requirements;

•   Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;

•   Ability to work in a team and to co-ordinate activities;

•   Ability to interpret engineering drawings;

•   Good theoretical knowledge of structural analysis;

•   Must be' solutions-oriented' and able to identify key issues and patterns in complex situations.
